Recalling memories of those we’ve lost is kind of like listening to a song after you haven’t listened to it for a while.
It’s choosing to bring that story, that energy back into your life… but did it ever leave?
A case could be made that that song remained a part of you — that the ways that song shaped you then have given way to who and where you are now. So it’s not bringing it back as much as it’s waking up to something within you that you weren’t as aware of before.
We’re the ones waking up.
Everything is at work, has been at work, and will remain at work — regardless of whether we’re aware of it or not.
Mindfulness is simply recognizing that which is, has been, and will be.
It’s not discovering something new, or that thing coming alive based on my recognition of it.
I’m not that powerful.
I’m just a guy, I’m not a god.
I don’t give life; I come alive to it.
